Block Island, RI – LBL – Light Tee
The Block Island, RI – LBL – Light Tee is a wearable tribute to Rhode Island’s crown jewel: a light-colored tee featuring a bold black design that represents the island’s rugged beauty, timeless charm, and enduring allure to visitors. Comfortable enough for every day, yet meaningful enough to spark stories at every turn.
Block Island, officially known as New Shoreham, lies approximately 9 miles south of mainland Rhode Island in the Atlantic. It was named by Dutch explorer Adriaen Block in 1614 after his discovery. In 1661, sixteen families settled the island under Massachusetts’ claim, and by 1664 it became part of Rhode Island. Originally inhabited by the Narragansett, who called it “Manisses”—“Manitou’s Little Island”—its story stretches back thousands of years.
Sometimes you just want to escape—to salt air, ocean breezes, and rugged cliffs that invite curiosity and calm. No wonder Block Island thrives as a summer haven: 17 miles of beaches, 250-foot-high Mohegan Bluffs, historic North and Southeast Lighthouses, 32 miles of trails, and unspoiled nature reserves draw hikers, birdwatchers, cyclists, and explorers alike. The island was even named one of The Nature Conservancy’s “Last Great Places” for its preserved landscape and wildlife sanctuaries.
Designed for those who embody the Lifestyle Beyond Location (LBL), this tee is a reminder of dirt roads, ferry rides, salty hair, and the kind of wild freedom you can only find where land meets the sea.
