Captain Kidd Tee

Legend, Loot & Legacy—Now in Tee Form.

They say the tide carries more than driftwood... sometimes, it carries legends. The Captain Kidd Tee pays tribute to one of the most infamous names in pirate history—Captain William Kidd, a real-life privateer-turned-pirate whose story crashed into New England's coastline with all the drama of a nor’easter.

Kidd began as a respected privateer, commissioned by the English crown in the late 1600s to hunt down pirates threatening merchant ships. But tides turned. Accused of piracy himself—partially due to political maneuvering and a suspiciously valuable haul taken from the Quedagh Merchant—Kidd became a wanted man.

In 1699, after sailing up the eastern seaboard, Kidd was captured in Boston, Massachusetts, at the home of a prominent colonial official, Elihu Yale, and later held at Stone Prison. He was extradited to England where he was tried and hanged in 1701. His execution was gruesome—he was hanged twice after the first rope broke, and his body was tarred and displayed in an iron cage over the River Thames as a warning to other would-be pirates.

And yet, legends of buried treasure, especially around Block Island, Gardiners Island, and parts of coastal Massachusetts—including whispers in Westport—have kept his spirit alive.

This tee captures that daring, rebellious spirit—perfect for anyone who hears the ocean call and dreams of lost gold, hidden maps, and a life lived bold. Wear it as your flag of freedom.
